The Director General of the Guinea Single Window for Foreign Trade (GUCEG), Mr. Mamoudou Diané, participated in a working meeting held at the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Budget (MEFB) with a mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), focused on public finance reforms.
Chaired by the Secretary General of the MEFB, Dr. Mamoudou Touré, the meeting provided an opportunity to present the progress made by Guinea in the digitalization of public procedures and the strengthening of government revenue collection.
During the discussions, the Director General of GUCEG highlighted several major reforms implemented through the GUCEG platform, including the digitalization and securitization of customs duties and tax payments, the interconnection with commercial banks and the Central Bank of the Republic of Guinea (BCRG), as well as the digitalization of foreign trade procedures.
The discussions also focused on the reduction in processing times for Import Descriptive Declarations (DDIs) and Export Descriptive Declarations (DDEs), which have been reduced from four days to just two hours.
Through these reforms, GUCEG continues its efforts to enhance transparency, ensure the traceability of operations, and optimize the mobilization of public revenue, thereby contributing to the modernization of public administration and the improvement of Guinea’s business climate.
